After a stretch of days with above normal temperatures, we feel the cool down today as temps fall closer to average. Temperatures start off in mid-30s to low 40s, then highs range from near 40 to upper 40s. An early round of light snow and rain showers may scrape across north Itasca County, Koochiching County, and far northern St. Louis County this morning. A deck of cloud cover envelops the region from the west through the morning, then skies clear from the south in the late afternoon and evening.
Tonight will be colder yet with frost expected. Lows will be mostly below freezing in upper 20s to low 30s. High pressure takes residence on Wednesday to bring sunshine. It will be another cooler day with highs in the 40s. Temps trend warmer starting Thursday with many areas returning to low 50s. Friday closes out the week with mid to upper 50s and sunshine. Similarly mild conditions are with us each day through the weekend and into the start of next week, making for a quiet and comfortable Halloween. The only chance for precipitation in the forecast is a low chance for light rain in north central Minnesota on Thursday.
