Our Halloween begins cool and frosty for some with temps in 20s and 30s. Temps improve greatly after sunrise with highs returning to low to mid-60s in most areas today. Trick-or-treaters don’t have to factor in too many layers to their costumes this year! Temps will begin to fall into the 40s after sunset, so a light jacket will be wanted for trick-or-treaters still out around or after 8 pm.
The weather pattern we’re in will keep the warmth we’ve gotten to enjoy lately with us into the first few days of November. Widespread highs will return to the 60s tomorrow and Wednesday. Overnight temps fall near freezing again tonight, then a warming trend will bump lows into the 50s by Wednesday night.
Cooler air returns to the region from the northwest Thursday into Friday as a cold front passes.
This system will be responsible for our next chance of precipitation. Scattered rain showers arrive Thursday evening and taper off to the east Friday morning. Rain may mix with snow before we dry out on Friday, particularly looking north toward the international border. We will then have a typical fall chill return to the air for the end of the week and linger this weekend.
