Brandon Weatherz: A mild stretch starts today
Now that we got a taste of December to start the week, we’re settling into a stretch with warmer days and nights beginning today and continuing through Christmas. Our Tuesday starts off with temps mostly in the teens, so it’s still a bus stop to bundle up for. We climb into low to mid-30s under a mix of clouds and sun. A breezy southwest wind develops and initiates our warming trend.
A weak cold front sweeps the Northland tonight, but we stay dry with it. It takes a slight hit to temps, mostly to northern communities. Lows will still be milder than they were this morning ranging from mid-teens to low 20s thanks to thicker cloud cover. Wednesday features highs ranging from mid-20s to upper 30s looking from north to south with 33 in the Twin Ports. Skies remain mostly cloudy, and we’ll feel an east wind around 15 mph beneath an area of high pressure building across Ontario.
Thursday sees us all above freezing with highs in the mid to upper 30s. There’s a slight chance for a little drizzle, light snow, and possibly freezing drizzle Thursday night into Friday morning. That minimal round of precipitation is all we have in the region until rain chances arrive Christmas Eve and linger Christmas Day. Gray and warm conditions are what we have over the holiday weekend with highs near 40 and lows above freezing.
