Brandon Weatherz: Gloom to finally come to an end
Our Wednesday begins with areas of fog, snow, drizzle, and freezing drizzle before we finally trend toward drier conditions. Be mindful of potentially slick roads this morning. Temps begin near freezing in low to mid-30s, then we’ll rise only a couple degrees with highs staying in mid to upper 30s. Skies remain cloudy for the bulk of the day, then we’ll finally see some breaks in the clouds overnight. Temperatures will still be warm for this time of year, but lows in the mid-20s to low 30s will allow wet conditions to turn icy by Thursday morning.
Thursday will see us into mid-30s to near 40 under decreasing cloud cover. By Friday, we’ll finally see sunshine abound across the region and temperatures will still be topping off above freezing for a mild and bright end to the week. A cooling trend takes us through the weekend with highs mostly in the 20s by Sunday. The cooldown is accompanied by scattered snow showers Saturday into Sunday with light accumulation possible. It won’t be much, but it could be just enough for it to start feeling like winter before 2023 comes to a close.
