Brandon Weatherz: Warming up the rest of the week
Above average temperatures take us through the rest of the workweek, then we cool to more seasonable conditions over the weekend. There are two systems affecting the region, one today and one Friday, both of which will primarily leave their mark on our temperatures and winds. Today will bring a slight chance for flurries or light wintry mix showers across the Arrowhead and into the South Shore, but no accumulations or travel impacts are expected.
The next system may bring light rain to northern areas Thursday night, then the borderland will keep a low chance for light rain on Friday which would eventually mix with and turn to snow through the day. Once again, most areas shouldn’t see accumulations or travel impacts. Saturday brings only a slight chance for light snow across northern Minnesota, and our Wisconsin communities are grazed by snow chances for a system that stays mostly to the east.
