It’s another slick morning commute with partially to completely snow covered roads. Scattered snow showers will gradually taper off from west to east through the morning and afternoon. The potential for a light glaze of ice and additional snow generally less than an inch keeps a Winter Weather Advisory in effect until noon across the Northland. The Advisory continues until 6 pm in Lake and Cook Co. where additional accumulation of 1-2” is possible. Similar localized amounts are possible for parts of the South Shore where light lake effect may linger overnight.
A brief quiet period is with us Wednesday before the next system arrives. A breezy east wind may produce light lake effect snow or freezing drizzle in the afternoon and evening. Widespread snow creeps in from the south Wednesday night and continues through the day Thursday. The North Shore and Twin Ports are currently where we expect 1-3” with amounts increasing to 3-6” for much of northwest Wisconsin. This system is followed by a stretch of quiet weather Friday through the weekend.
