Brandon Weatherz: Next round of snow arrives this evening

All that lingers from yesterday’s system is light snow along parts of the South Shore this morning. It’s yet another mild start to the day with temps in mid-teens to mid-20s. We don’t warm up much through the day with afternoon highs staying in low to mid-20s. We look west in the late afternoon for the arrival of snow from the next system in the clipper parade. Scattered light snow showers will then be with us through tonight and tomorrow. Widespread accumulation will be between about one and two inches. Locally higher amounts are possible along the North Shore Wednesday, and along the South Shore where snow chances linger through Thursday morning. Thursday will be cooler with highs staying in the teens.
Thursday evening brings the arrival of another round of light accumulation from the west. Snow sweeps the region overnight and exits east Friday morning, with lake effect lingering once more along the South Shore. Behind this system will be a stretch of cold weather like we have yet to see this January. Highs will be near zero and lows below zero starting Saturday and continuing well into next week.
