It’s a frigid start to the day with temps in teens and twenties below zero. A Wind Chill Advisory is in effect across the region until 10 AM as wind chills down to -40 remain possible. Daytime highs will be a slight improvement today as highs reach above zero into single digits to near 10. A patchwork of clouds develops in the afternoon and lingers tonight producing scattered flurries and possibly a light dusting. Temperatures fall back to single digits and teens below zero overnight with wind chill concerns near and north of the Iron Range.
The warming trend continues Wednesday with highs climbing into the teens under a mix of sun and clouds. A cold front sweeps the region from the north Wednesday night into Thursday responsible for a few snow showers and the arrival of colder air. Thursday’s highs will be set in the morning ranging from low teens to single digits below zero. Thursday night into Friday morning will be bitter cold with widespread lows in teens and twenties below zero. Wind chills may be as low as -50 as a blustery northwest wind kicks in behind the cold front. Temps rebound for a milder weekend with a slight chance for snow on Saturday.
