Brandon Weatherz: Quiet and comfortable weekend continues

We begin to trend a touch warmer for our Sunday with highs in mid-70s to near 80. Skies will once again feature more sun than clouds. A weak piece of energy rolling through the atmosphere will try to generate a few sprinkles, but it will be competing with the drier air of a high pressure system which will be our main weather influencer into the start of the new week. We can also thank the high for keeping dew points comfortably in the 50s on Sunday. Lows return to mid-40s and mid-50s Sunday night under clear skies.
Monday will feature more sunshine with highs returning to upper 70s to mid-80s. We’re monitoring the potential for wildfire to return to the surface and impact air quality Monday. The warming trend continues through Wednesday when highs will be back in the 80s across the Northland with warm areas like Brainerd approaching 90 once again, then we’ll gradually trend cooler through the end of the week on the backside of a cold front. That passing system will bring scattered thunderstorms Wednesday into Thursday.
