Now that we’ve finally picked up some needed moisture, we can look forward to a drier and warmer stretch over the weekend that will cooperate nicely with outdoor plans. We should have a great stretch of days for lawn work, it’ll just be a bit sweaty. We look to northern parts of Lake and Cook Co. for an isolated shower or thunderstorm this afternoon. Skies are otherwise mostly sunny. Generally dry conditions then linger Saturday and Sunday.

Shower and thunderstorm chances return to northern Minnesota Monday afternoon and evening, reaching the Twin Ports Monday night. Independence Day will feature scattered showers and thunderstorms. By Wednesday, we’ll be on the backside of a weather system with lingering showers and a cooling trend beginning.

Highs reach upper 70s to mid-80s today, and a west wind will spread the warmth down the hill. We’ll continue to trend warmer through the weekend with widespread highs in the 80s. By Monday, the warm areas will see low 90s. Tuesday will still feature mid and upper 80s, then temps take a hit following the 4th.
