Justin Liles: Additional snow and bitter cold tonight
This cold air currently in place is still going to impact us with heavy lake effect snow on the south shore and brutal wind chills. First, moderate to heavy lake-effect snow along the south shore begins tonight and lasts through Friday morning. An additional 6-9” is possible through Friday morning toward Ironwood, MI. The cold will likely result in light and fluffy snow.
An arctic blast of cold air brings wind chills as low as -20 to near -40 early tonight through Thursday morning.
Temperatures will rebound back into the upper 20s to low 30s by the end of the weekend. More snow is likely Saturday. Northwest Wisconsin will see the most as the low passes to our south.
