Over the next 24 hours our weather pattern is going to go from feeling like spring to finally feeling like winter. High pressure will move in across the upper Midwest and lock much colder air in place. Temperatures will likely be some 15° to 20° colder than what we’ve been experiencing most of the month. Cold northerly winds will stick around through the weekend. Thanksgiving Day will see most of the region seeing temperatures readings in the mid to upper 30s.

Overnight lows will likely drop into the teens to single digits, especially for our northern viewing area. Wind Chills during the overnight hours will likely reach in the low single digits to possibly below zero. The light jackets should go back into the closet and be replaced with our winter coats.

There will be a chance for some light snow in the U.P. of Michigan due to lake effect and colder air interacting with the warmer water of Lake Superior. We do have another shot of light snow Saturday night into Sunday. Have a great and safe holiday weekend.
