As the area of low pressure that was responsible for the rain, wind, and snow across the Northland departs, in its wake will be much cooler air. The colder air looks to stick around through the weekend. Overnight lows will drop far enough over the weekend that with even the slightest winds, it will feel as if we are in the single digits to teens. Highs in the 30s look to hang around for the next week. We look dry but there is a chance for some light snow Monday night into Tuesday.

Once again, it’s likely it will melt and only fall on grassy surfaces. It won’t be enough for most areas to create a white Halloween, but kids will need the coats, hats, and gloves. Winds will likely be more northwesterly, and some Lake Effect snow may linger into Tuesday along the south shore, mainly the U.P. of Michigan. An inch of snow or more is possible here. Drier conditions look to continue through the remainder of the week and light rain is possible by the end of the week. Little to no snow is likely for the opening weekend of the Minnesota deer firearms season.
