Justin Liles: Dry weather continues!

Our weather is currently being dictated by a large low over Michigan that doesn’t want to move and a large high to our northwest in Canada. The two of them are working in tandem to bring northerly flow across the Northland along with breezy conditions. This has created near critical fire dangers for northern Minnesota as drought conditions persist. The low out east is creating some light rain in the U.P. of Michigan and creating some cloud cover everywhere else.
Skies will clear tonight, and another warmer day is on tap Tuesday. Winds will be rather breezy again. The lake breeze will again take over Wednesday and take us through the weekend. There is a chance of some light rain returning Friday afternoon into the evening that could impact the William A. Irvin 5k.
Temperatures will likely be in the low to mid 50s during the running of Grandma’s Marathon on Saturday. Any showers will likely come before sunrise Saturday morning. Father’s Day looks great with more sunshine.
