With clearing skies expected overnight, some chilly temperatures are expected for Thursday morning lows in the single digits above and below zero. This brief window of clear skies may allow us to see a meteor shower on the horizon if you look to the northeast. The best chance will come after midnight. Despite overnight lows being near normal values, those temperatures would be some of the coldest temperatures we’ve seen yet this winter since it has been so mild!

High pressure becomes dominant into the end of the week before a system moves in Friday afternoon through Sunday which will bring a chance for accumulating snow. The best chance for snow should be Friday evening, through Saturday, and into Sunday. There is at least a 50% chance for 2 inches or more across the Northland, and 20% chance of 4 inches or more along the North Shore with terrain/lake enhancement. We could be looking at some slick travel Friday night and Saturday. We may also see a winter weather advisory posted in the next couple of days.
