Justin Liles: Nice weather continues

There are few things to mention today regarding our current weather pattern. The first is our warmer than average temperatures we’re experiencing with this summer surge looks to continue at least two more days. There is a chance for areas of patchy fog to develop overnight into Thursday morning.
Secondly, if you were planning to check out the fall colors parts of the North Shore are putting on a show right now. Colors are really popping near Oberg Mountain and Lutsen. A gondola ride might be just what the doctor ordered this weekend to see the colors.
Thirdly, parts of the Northland are under an Air Quality Alert until 11pm Thursday. Beltrami, Koochiching, and Itasca Counties are in this alert due to the wildfire smoke coming in out of Canada.
Lastly, rain this weekend may hold off until Sunday. It’s looking more likely we see some rain Sunday as the area of high pressure dominating our current weather keeps the rain farther west this weekend. We will see overcast skies Saturday and Sunday. Rain looks to stick around into the new week. Cooler conditions along with sunshine return by Tuesday.
