Justin Liles: Snow to continue for some parts of the Northland tonight
Additional light snowfall amounts are possible through this evening. A lake enhanced band of snow sets up across western Lake Superior, pivoting around from the North Shore to the Twin Ports and finally into the South Shore. A Winter Weather Advisory remains for areas around the lake and northwest Wisconsin until 3am Friday morning. In these areas higher amounts of snow are possible.
An additional 1-4” is possible especially in the elevated areas of the north shore. The higher amounts are expected to be very localized. A cool weather pattern will stick around Friday and Saturday with below zero lows, then warming up Sunday into next week.
This warming may lead to some thick fog around the region Monday through Christmas day. Winds will be light but the warmer air moving over the cold snowpack will likely lead to fog. Make sure to turn on your automobile lights when visibility decreases.
