Brandon Weatherz: Quiet and comfortable weekend

The beautiful weather that we got to enjoy yesterday gives you a good idea of what to expect today. Our Friday begins chilly with temps in single digits and teens, then temps rise nicely after sunrise. High pressure exiting the region today will be responsible for more sunshine and a gentle southwest wind. Highs reach comfortably into upper 30s to low 40s. Temperatures will remain rather seasonable through the weekend, then we dip on the cool side of average next week.
A system crossing from the southern U.S. today to Michigan tomorrow will keep snow and rain chances south of the Northland. A weak cold front will also sweep the region tonight into Saturday. All these two features will bring for us is cloudier skies and a few flurries. High pressure edges back into the region from the west on Sunday to chip away at cloud cover and keep the quiet stretch going. Snow showers are possible Wednesday, but we have to look as far out as the end of next week for the next system that may bring impactful precipitation to the Northland.
