Brandon Weatherz: Warm and sunny Memorial Day weekend

A beautiful stretch of weather will take us through Memorial Day weekend! Yesterday’s east wind becomes more southerly, limiting Lake Superior’s influence on temperatures. The North Shore will be kept the coolest while Canal Park rises to the 60s and we climb into the 70s on the hill. As a region, highs range from mid-70s to mid-80s looking from southeast to northwest with the Ice Box as a hot spot.
We can just about copy-and-paste that forecast to Saturday, Sunday, and Monday as sunshine and above average temperatures stick around. By Memorial Day, most areas will be in the 80s with cooler conditions immediately near Lake Superior. A dry stretch of weather will cooperate with outdoor plans and bring no relief to our need for moisture. With the dry conditions in mind, check local burn restrictions before burning this weekend. Shower and thunderstorm chances return from the west Tuesday and linger Wednesday.
