Brandon Weatherz: Enjoy a mild and dry stretch
A dry and mild weather pattern is with us through the middle of the workweek. Our Monday starts off with temps in mid-30s to low 40s, and we top off ranging from low 40s to low 50s looking from north to south across the Northland under mostly sunny skies. Tonight will be mostly cloudy with temps staying mostly above freezing in the 30s. Tuesday is the warmest day of the week with widespread 50s under mostly cloudy skies.
Winds are a contender for some today and tomorrow. Monday features a west northwest wind that is the strongest in the morning into the early afternoon. The highest gusts will be for the North Shore up to 40 mph. Winds calm down this evening, then pick back up overnight out of the south. Parts of east central Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin will see the strongest winds Monday night and Tuesday with gusts up to 40 mph.
A weak cold front passes Tuesday night, but no precipitation comes with it. It will be enough to take a slight hit to temps on Wednesday, but we’ll still be above average with highs ranging from mid-40s to mid-50s looking from north to south. Thursday will be the last day in this warm stretch with 50s in the region as a stronger cold front passes during the day. This front still doesn’t look to bring much in terms of precipitation. Rain showers may reach south of the Canadian border in the afternoon and evening. Temps will be closer to average but still a few degrees above for a quiet stretch Friday through Sunday.
