Our Wednesday begins with mild temps and localized fog. Be ready to use low beams and adjust speed as visibility may drop for your morning commute. An area of clouds is responsible for spotty sprinkles in northwest Wisconsin. Fog clears by 9 am and skies begin clearing as well with a warm and sunny day taking shape. Highs away from Lake Superior will be in upper 70s to low 80s this afternoon. A southeast wind will once again limit temps from the Twin Ports along the North Shore, but it shouldn’t have as much gusto as yesterday. Highs in the Twin Ports should range from mid-70s on the hill to mid-60s by the lake.
Patchy fog may return tonight into Thursday morning’s commute. Lows stay mild again in the 50s. Tomorrow is another toasty September day with highs in upper 70s to low 80s. Lake influence should be more limited Thursday. Friday will still be mild with highs in mid-70s away from Lake Superior. An east wind returns to keep lakeside areas a bit cooler.
Shower and thunderstorm chances stay mostly limited to northwest Minnesota overnight. That potential tries to reach across the Canadian border on Thursday, and an isolated storm may crop up in northwest Wisconsin Thursday afternoon. Friday features a low chance for showers and thunderstorms with the Borderland once again holding the best chance. There’s still a chance for rain over the weekend, but the wettest conditions now look to stay west of the Northland. Cloudy skies, a gusty east wind, and periodic showers are expected Saturday and Sunday.
