April 20-21 snow and ice reports; New record in Duluth
A messy spring system brought snow, ice and rain accumulation to the Northland to end the workweek. The bulk of accumulation has fallen by Friday morning, but impacts linger with additional accumulation for some. Forecast available here.
This system has officially pushed Duluth in the top spot as the snowiest season on record! The previous record of 135.4″ was surpassed with the 2:30 am Thursday observation from the National Weather Service. The 7 am Friday observation brought us to 138.9″ with 3.8″ from this system so far.
