Sunday’s wet and windy system has lingering impacts for the start of our new workweek. We dry out tonight and enjoy a brief break Tuesday, then another system rolls through quickly with widespread rain Tuesday night. That round of moisture moves north early Wednesday with another brief lull in precipitation, then yet another low pressure system swings across the region Thursday into Friday with another shot of needed rain. After that, there’s a chance for some showers in the Northland this weekend, but confidence is lower in wet weather for Saturday and Sunday as of now.

The main concern in the short term is the potential for ice accumulation in the Arrowhead this morning. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Lake County and Cook County until 1 pm. Temps here have generally stayed above freezing overnight, but the higher terrain areas have the greatest chance for subfreezing temps and ice. Winds are the strongest early this morning, then we stay breezy today but gradually find improvement through the day.

Highs stay in mid-30s tow low 40s for most today, with temps rising into the 50s looking south of Lake Superior in Wisconsin. We’ll enjoy a return to 50s and 60s on Tuesday and widespread 60s Wednesday. Thursday’s rain keeps us in 50s, and a breezy east wind holds temps near Lake Superior in the 40s. A west wind is expected Friday through the weekend with highs generally in the 50s each day.
