Brandon Weatherz: Spring-like weather stays through Thursday
Our Tuesday starts off with temps ranging from low 20s to mid-30s. We’ll see highs back in low to upper 40s today under mostly cloudy skies. Duluth did manage a daily record of 50 ° yesterday, and 51° set in 1925 would be the record to beat today. Tonight is mostly cloudy with patchy fog and lows ranging from mid-20s near and north of the Iron Range to mid-30s for a lot of northwest Wisconsin. Wednesday is cloudy with highs in the 40s. A breezy east wind will keep cooler conditions along the North Shore.
Precipitation finally returns to the region in the form of rain Wednesday night. Periods of rain continue Thursday, then snow mixes in with what lingers on Friday. Highs will still be in low to upper 30s on Friday. Snow amounts are expected to be minimal. Rain accumulation of between a quarter and a half inch is expected for much of the Northland Wednesday night through Friday, which will deteriorate ice and snow conditions. The weekend will be cooler and cloudy with 20s and 30s and light lake effect snow for the South Shore.
