High pressure will continue to dominate the middle third of the country over the next several days. Extremely hot weather is expected all weekend long. Hot temperatures in the 80s to near 90 expected through the weekend with strong southerly winds with gusts of 20 to 25 mph. This wind will bring in plenty of moisture making for extremely humid conditions as dew points climb into the 70s. The combination of heat and humidity could see heat indices climb to 100°F, this includes Duluth. The Northland beaches and water ways will likely be full this weekend with people trying to beat the heat.

There are couple chances for afternoon/evening showers and storm Saturday and Sunday. The best chance will be Itasca County, Koochiching County and Norther St. Louis County Saturday night. The best chance will come Sunday afternoon and evening spreading from the Northwest (Baudette) to northern Wisconsin (late Sunday into Monday). Heavy rain, flooding, and large hail will be the biggest threats as of now.
