Heading into the holiday weekend we are going to see plenty of sunshine but after Saturday it will start to feel like fall. Winds will be a bit gusty Saturday out of the WSW, but this should make for warmer conditions by the lake A cold front Saturday brings breezy conditions and a chance for some showers and thunderstorms – which could deliver some strong winds. After that, seasonable temperatures and quiet weather are expected.

Some smoke aloft is possible, which may lead to hazy skies especially late Sunday. Sunday will be the cooler day of the weekend as many Northland highs climb into the upper 60s and lower 70s. Labor Day will be another nice day as we end the last day of summer for many Northland kids. School starts Tuesday and we look to stay pleasant and dry through Wednesday night when more light rain is possible.
