Justin Liles: Happy Hall-Snow-ween

Our first snowfall of the season is setting to roll into the Northland tomorrow morning. Most of the snow will be in and around the Twin Ports and southward through east central Minnesota and northern northwest Wisconsin. As of 4pm Wednesday, the National Weather Service in Duluth has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for most regions around the head of the lake. Some parts of the north shore are under a winter storm watch through Thursday afternoon. Most of the snowfall is likely stick to only grassy surfaces and morning travel will be just fine. There is the potential for some slick spots by Thursday afternoon heading home. Temperatures will feel in the low to mid 30s all day and be rather blustery too. These winds could produce some reduced visibilities around the western part of Lake Superior. Place along HWY 2 and HWY 13 in northern Wisconsin may see the worst of this by Thursday afternoon. Snowfall totals are still holding on to forecast totals the WDIO storm team has been communicating over the last two days.

The Iron Range, international border and arrowhead may not see much unless the storm shifts south. By the time the kids head out to trick or treat warm gear will be necessary with windy conditions and a winter mix.

Warmer temps look to return by the weekend.
