Hot, Humid, Weather continues

Temperatures and humidity continue to increase through the weekend. Dangerous heat in the upper 80s to low 90s are possible along with tropical typer humidity. Heat indices will be well into the 90s with 100s toward Minneapolis. The Twin Cities along with western Minnesota have a Heat Advisory from 1 PM Saturday until 8 PM Sunday.

There will also be potential for strong to severe storms on Saturday and Sunday. The severe thunderstorm potential will hinge on whether thunderstorms can break through a lid of warmer air higher in the atmosphere. If by chance thunderstorms do develop, damaging wind gusts and large hail would be the main hazards. Beginning Saturday evening there will a severe storm potential to develop over Central Minnesota and will move southeast.

By Sunday afternoon and evening there is a threat of strong storms in out southern viewing area wind damage will be the big threat with this one. Finally, more widespread thunderstorms are possible all-over late Sunday into Monday morning.
