Justin Liles: Rain to turn over into snow
Low pressure will continue to bring showers and thunderstorms to the Northland this evening. Isolated thunderstorms will be possible tonight into Wednesday, especially over northwest WI. Expect the heaviest rainfall to be Wednesday night into Thursday morning. As cold air filters into the Northland on Wednesday night into Thursday, rain showers are expected to transition to snow across a large portion of the area. Currently, the trend for more snow is increasing, so keep an eye out for additional updates as we head closer to Halloween! The track of the low along with colder air being drawn in behind the low is now shifting some heavier snow along the North Shore in the higher terrain. Please keep in mind that in the next 24-48 hrs. we could see another shift.
Any snow that does fall is likely to fall on grassy surfaces only. Road conditions will likely be good as they are still warm enough to melt any snow. This weekend temperatures and conditions may change based on the snowfall amount we get.
