Justin Liles: Rain tonight and warmer this week
Rain showers and cloudy skies ruined our chances for seeing the solar eclipse in the Northland today. However, we did get some much-needed rain. It wasn’t enough to put an end to our current drought but anything at this point we’ll take. The bigger story this week will be the increasing temperatures and unseasonably warm air heading our way this week.
Temperatures around the region are going to be some 10° to 15° above average. We may see some scattered thunderstorms on Wednesday. The best chance for this to happen will likely be in northern Wisconsin. Some more rain is likely to our south through Wisconsin on Thursday as a weather maker passes to our south. By the end of the weekend and into the weekend we are going to see ideal weather conditions with lots of sunshine and temperatures in the mid to upper 50s and lower 60s. This will likely lead to a chance of light rain late Monday into Tuesday.
