Lea Zmurko: A cloudy mid-week day
Wednesday morning started with isolated showers moving across the Arrowhead, but a cloudy sunrise further south. It will be a mostly cloudy day across the Northland with some peaks of sunshine to continue drying out from previous rain and flooding events.
The additional cloud cover will keep temperatures around 70 degrees, conditions will be cooler down by the water with a breeze coming off the lake. There is a chance for some spotty showers to cross the Iron Range in the afternoon, but by the evening the skies will be clear. This will bring overnight lows down to the mid-40s for a brisk night.
As we look ahead to Thursday, we will see a dry start that gives way to a mostly sunny day. The high pressure in place will then exit by the evening and a trough will move in. We will see rain and storms trek to the Northlands later Thursday night and they will last into the morning for Friday. This will be our next chance for strong to severe weather to occur.
