Lea Zmurko: A calm day with clouds building in

August 20: A dry cloudy Tuesday

A comfortable day this week with conditions in the mid 70s for most. Winds off the lake will keep it cooler along the North Shore. Cloud coverage will increase in the afternoon and temperatures will drop into the low 50s tonight.

Tuesday will remain dry as high pressure continues to slowly move eastward over the next few days. With quiet weather in the forecast, the dry and comfortable conditions should make for an enjoyable day in the Northland. Highs will reach the mid to upper 70s across central Minnesota, but conditions will remain cooler down by the water with an east wind coming off the lake.

There will be some showers and thunderstorms passing by on Thursday morning to disrupt the calm week.

With more warm air advection from southwest winds over the weekend, temperatures will warm into the mid to upper 80s as wrap up summer.
