Lea Zmurko: A series of storms move across the Northland
Finally, some rain is arriving to break up the heat and humidity. Cloud coverage will build through the morning as the system of showers makes its way eastward.
The Northland will see rounds of rain in the mid-morning and into the late afternoon. There is a small chance for the storms to become strong to severe. The key risks look to include damaging winds and potential for hail around the Brainerd Lakes. Most of the threats for severe weather are forecasted further south of the Northland. Most will just experience the usual thunder and lightning with periods of heavy rain.
When the rain clears, we will see a brief period of cooler conditions as temperatures stay in the low 70s. Dry weather will stick around into the upcoming weekend and temperatures will continue to rise making their way back into the low 80s by Friday.
