Lea Zmurko: Another day of sunshine for the Northland.
The morning will start out foggy for most with low lying fog stretching from the Brainerd Lakes region northward to International Falls and then over across Northeastern Wisconsin. This haze will begin to dissipate as the sun rises.
We will continue to see a few more days with pop up showers in the late afternoon before conditions stay dry for the end of the week. The rain for Tuesday afternoon will be localized across north-central Minnesota and along the Arrowhead. Tomorrow’s rain will push across the Iron Range wrapping around into northwestern Wisconsin.
Temperatures will remain above normal for the entirety of this week leading to increased risks of heat advisories being placed as we move into the weekend. There will be a light lake breeze that will provide some circulation on these hot days ahead.
With a northwest wind persisting for the next few days, there is a risk for a slight decline in air quality as light smoke will make its way from the Canadian wildfires. Minimal smoke and aerosol are anticipated to make their way to the surface, but most of the Northland will remain at a moderate risk which still indicates unhealthy conditions for sensitive groups.
