Lea Zmurko: Brisk winds and bare skies
It is another frigid morning in the Northland with air temperatures staying well below zero overnight. Cloud coverage remains minimal allowing for plenty of cooling with temps bottoming out between -20 to -30 degrees. The daypart for today remains quiet with few clouds crossing by this afternoon and diurnal heating helping highs reach the single digits. Many staying cold but will reach temperatures between 5-8 degrees this late afternoon.
The Extreme Cold Warnings remain in place as windchills exceed the threshold and bring the feels like temperatures to -35 to -50 degrees. The advisory will lift by 10 AM and likely be reinstated tonight as the arctic air and northwest winds pick back up after sunset continuing into Wednesday morning.

Skies will stay dry today, but light snow is possible tomorrow afternoon with the greatest amounts of accumulation landing across the tip of the Arrowhead and South Shore with 2-3 inches, elsewhere an inch or less can be expected.
Throughout the rest of the week temperatures will gradually be on the rise and by the late weekend temps will very likely be above freezing.
