Lea Zmurko: Clouds roll in ahead of overnight rain.

August 14: A mostly sunny Wednesday

Wednesday will stay dry with temperatures in the upper seventies with cloud coverage building overnight ahead of widespread rain.

Starting our morning with some fog across the Iron Range and northern Wisconsin. Conditions should clear and the morning will be mostly sunny across the Northland more clouds will be rolling in by the afternoon. Temperatures will remain mild in the upper seventies across the region.

A low-pressure system is slowly making its way into the Northland and bringing widespread rain and thunderstorms later tonight that will persist through Thursday and linger around for Friday morning. No severe weather is anticipated, but locally heavy rain could lead to elevated water levels and minor ponding.

Winds will also be picking up by the end of the week with gusts across the Arrowhead and northwest Wisconsin expected to be at 25 to 30 mph.  Temperatures will also take a dip for the rest of the week and stay in the upper sixties and low seventies on Thursday and Friday due to the rain, wind, and thick cloud coverage overhead.
