Lea Zmurko: Cooling down for the end of the year
The last bit of patchy fog will clear this morning, and cold air continues to advance. Temperatures will begin a descent today as the highs will be 6-8 degrees cooler than the mild weather we saw on Monday.
Winds will be blustery from the northwest with gusts sustaining wind speeds upwards of 20 mph. This will be conducive for light snow and flurries throughout the afternoon and the rest of the week. Snow accumulation will remain minimal further inlands. However, along the South Shore Snowbelt, lake effect precipitation will ramp up and a couple inches can be expected across Iron County and the Upper Peninsula by the end of the week.
Cold air will be prominent over the weekend and advisories may be issued as windchills are projected to fall to -30 degrees across the Arrowhead.
