Lea Zmurko: Falling into seasonable conditions

November 22: Chilly and cloudy weekend

Temperatures will fall over the weekend and the chances for snow will be returning Sunday night and sticking through the upcoming chilly week.

As we wrap up the work week, we see clouds continuing to cross the Northland. Winds from the northwest remain persistent for the weekend and will bring in light snow as flakes fly across the far north parts of Minnesota. Some mist and light rain will be crossing the Lake to the South Shore as there are likely chances for lake effect precipitation to continue into Saturday afternoon.

As high pressure moves in tonight, temperatures will be near normal in the lower-20s. Conditions will stay cooler for Saturday afternoon with some places near freezing across the Iron Range.

The next measurable chances for snowfall accumulation are expected to start Sunday afternoon and continue through Monday morning. One to three inches of snow is expected north of U.S. Highway 2 and throughout the upcoming week there remains likely chances for isolated snow showers to continue as temperatures drop.
