October 11: Leaves and temperatures are falling

A cool and bright day in the Northland as a cold front pushes across the region bringing in a north breeze.

A few light showers clear across the top of the arrowhead and northern Minnesota this morning as clouds cross the region. Winds from the north will continue to clear skies as a cold front extends across the Northland today.

It will be windy this afternoon as a breeze picks up from the north at 10-15 mph gusts can be expected to reach 25 mph. Temperatures will stick to the mid-60s this afternoon and then we will see conditions cool over the course of the weekend. Tonight, temperatures will fall into the 30s as the chilly evenings will continue into next week.

The fall foliage and northern lights are still out and will continue to be visible throughout the weekend. It will be cool and crips in the early mornings but cloudy through the daypart tomorrow.

More precipitation is likely for Saturday night into Sunday morning Monday will be the coolest with a slight chance for some mixed precipitation along the South Shore in the early morning and highs in the mid-40s. Weather will remain quite for the rest of the work week with another chance for rain by next Friday.

A 50 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 51. Breezy, with a north wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
