Lea Zmurko:  One more humid day

September 18: The end of the week long heat

One more humid and hot afternoon before rain and rumbles move in for the rest of the week.

Wrapping up this dry stretch with another afternoon in the low eighties. Winds persisting from the south as warm and humid air remains dominant in the Northland.

We will start to see a change in weather patterns as a cold front moves in bringing some precipitation to north western Minnesota late overnight. Damaging winds and hail are possible with the evening storms.

Showers and strong to severe storms are set to arrive tomorrow afternoon with the slight risk for severe weather including hazards of large hail, damaging winds, and potential tornadoes.

Once the eventful weather clears out, temperatures will drop into more seasonable conditions and the cool air will continue into next week.
