Lea Zmurko: Seeing a few light sprinkles in the early morning before more rain makes its way.

October 22: Rain rolls in

Rainy conditions today ahead of a cold front tonight. We will then return to the fifties of fall with some cooler breezes from the northwest.

Tuesday will be warm and wet as temperatures stick to the upper 60s and low 70s as a band of rain crosses eastward over the course of the day.

Most of the rain will fall across northeastern Minnesota starting in the mid-morning and by the early afternoon we are seeing a 20% chance of thunderstorms stretching from Brainerd Lakes to the Boundary waters. Overall, around a quarter inch of rain is expected across the Iron Range and even less rainfall accumulation will reach the Arrowhead and South Shore

The winds will shift to the northwest overnight and a cooler airmass behind the rain creates very light chances for snow across the far northern parts of Minnesota on Wednesday morning. Only a Trace is to be expected on grassy surfaces

After the light flakes, conditions will remain cooler in the 40s and mid 50s through the weekend, but the breezy conditions will make it feel like the low 30s, especially in the early morning.
