Lea Zmurko: Storms and showers stick around

September 5: Spotty showers and a cool weekend

Storms continue to push eastward this morning. Temperatures will continue to drop into the mid 60s for the rest of the week as winds shift.

A cold front is continuing is trek across the Northland and bringing rounds of showers with it.

The scattered showers and thunderstorms continue to move eastward in the early hours of Thursday morning. The system is moving across northern Wisconsin and the UP bringing localized heavy rain and chances for thunder.

We will see some breaks from the rain mid-morning, but mostly cloudy conditions will remain for the day part. A few pop-up showers can be expected over the Iron Range and North Shore this afternoon and they will move eastward for the Bayfield Peninsula.

Winds have switched directions. The northwest flow is bringing in cold air advection for the region. The next few days will be cooler and feel more like fall, as temperatures reach the mid-60s by the afternoon hours.

Pretty good chance for some frost early Saturday morning as the overnight lows take a dip into the 30s Friday night. But, come Sunday temperatures will be back on the rise and temperatures make their way above normal for next week.
