Lea Zmurko: As temperatures start to fall, the Northland sees a risk for frost.

September 6: A quick cold snap

Cooler conditions move in for the weekend. Temperatures stay in the 60s with a northwest breeze giving the Northland a taste of fall.

A few isolated showers with light rain are clearing out of the Northland this morning as they continue to move east across northwestern Wisconsin. Skies will remain mostly sunny with some passing clouds in the afternoon hours as dry air continues to move in.

Conditions will remain cool for the next two days as temperatures stay in the mid 60s across the region and overnight lows drop to the upper 30s. With clear skies and high pressure overhead, the region will experience some rapid cooling.

There is a Frost Advisory in place across most of the Northland for tonight as vegetation is at risk to the sharp decline in temperatures so make sure to cover any delicate plants and gardens this afternoon.

Weather will remain quiet around the Northland for the upcoming week and temperatures will trend unseasonably warm nearing 80 degrees by the middle of the week.
