Lea Zmurko: The incoming frigid and frosty weather
Light snow will cross northern Minnesota in the evening as precipitation accumulation will be just under 2 inches for many. With the snow moving in overnight and temperatures rapidly dropping roads may be covered, slippery, or have reduced visibility early tomorrow morning.
As the clipper system continues across Lake Superior, lake effect snow showers will bring heavy snow with to Iron County starting early Wednesday morning.
Winds will be strong from the northwest tomorrow afternoon and into Thursday morning as cold air continues to pose a threat as wind chills will plummet into the -20 to -35-degree range tomorrow night.
As highs will be in the single digits and windchills will be well below zero as the gusts of wind remain elevated. It is likely that cold weather advisories will be issued as the frigid air will increase risks for frostbite if exposed for extended periods of time.
