Lea Zmurko:  Windchills below zero today, but a swing in the positive direction to come

January 14: Windchills won’t let up

The cold weather continues as gusting winds and single digit temperatures keep the region well below normal for another day.

The breezy conditions continue today as temperatures reach the single digits and winds gust up to 25 mph. The windchills will remain below zero across the Northland as the chilling breeze persists and the high pressure sits overhead.

As the high-pressure system slowly retreat to the east, a southwesterly flow will resume and bring temperatures to near normal, the teens and twenties, before dropping back down to below zero over the weekend.

With the quick mid-week warm up comes another chance to see some light snow, at most an inch across the International Boarder. A little bit more snow could cross on Friday into Saturday as a clipper treks to our north but now it is not looking to be too impactful.
