Lea Zmurko: Winds build for Thursday morning
Lake effect precipitation wraps up this morning as light snow and rain showers linger in northeastern Wisconsin and across the Upper Peninsula as the system centers itself around Lake Michigan. Snowfall accumulation remains just under an inch across the Iron County snowbelt as the low-pressure system continues to clear out of the Northland to the east.
The rest of the Northland will be seeing a breezy afternoon as a pressure gradient continues to increase and westward gusts reach 45 to 50 mph along the North Shore. There is a wind advisory in place through 2pm today as the windy conditions can pose a threat to tree limbs and power lines across the shoreline.
High pressure will follow as dry cool conditions continue for tomorrow and the start of the weekend. There will be another chance for some snowfall on Sunday as a clipper moves into the region. Chances of snow continue in the upcoming week with temperatures staying close to normal.
