Brandon Weatherz: Next round of rain arrives tomorrow
Last night’s rain moves north of the Canadian border through the morning. Areas of fog are once again out there for the morning commute. Fog lifts by late morning with low clouds lingering, then peaks of sun arrive this afternoon. A west wind will pick up to near 15 mph today beneath our departing low pressure system. Temps start in mid-30s to low 50s looking south. The warm spots stay near 60 today, we’ll see mid to upper 50s in the Twin Ports, and a high closer to 50 looking north near Ely.
Tonight is partly cloudy with temps bottoming out in low 30s to low 40s. Patchy fog may return. Thursday starts dry, then scattered showers take over the Northland from the south through the day. Highs stay in mid-40s to mid-50s with a gusty east wind. A lower chance for showers lingers Friday morning, mostly along the international border.
Winds shift back out of the west Friday with temps pushing into the 60s across the region. We should continue to have a west wind with minimal influence from Lake Superior on our temperatures through the weekend. An east wind looks to return on Monday, by which time inland areas should be in the 70s.
