Our Tuesday starts off with areas of frost in northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin. This is a result of drier air in place due to a broad area of high pressure to our north. That high will provide abundant sunshine once more today. A breezy east wind around 15 mph will lead to a spread in temperatures with upper 40s immediately near Lake Superior, 50s extending from the Twin Ports along the North and South Shores, and low to upper 60s for the rest of the Northland.

Additional frost is possible tonight for parts of the Minnesota Arrowhead and into northern Wisconsin and the U.P. Temps stay in the 40s looking west into north central Minnesota as these areas are the first to see increasing clouds overnight into Wednesday. Clouds continue to thicken across the region from the west through the day. Highs will be back in low 60s to low 70s away from Lake Superior with a breezy east wind keeping shoreline communities cooler yet again.

Rain chances build across Minnesota from the west through the afternoon and evening tomorrow with most of the Northland seeing rain settle in Wednesday night. Scattered showers and thunderstorms gradually taper off to the east through the day Thursday. Periodic shower and thunderstorm chances then look to stay in the region through the weekend.

A warming trend sees most areas away from Lake Superior into 70s Friday and Saturday while an east wind remains rather consistent. Winds shift on Sunday behind a cold front with highs in mid-60s to low 70s, even closer to the lake.
