We’ve finally got a morning without fog to contend with, but we’ll trade a clearer commute for a cooler and breezy day with cloudy skies and scattered showers. Temps start out ranging from near 30 in the Arrowhead to upper 40s looking south toward Hinckley. Highs stay in upper 40s and low 50s for inland areas today, and an east wind around 15 mph gusting near 30 mph will keep the temp closer to Lake Superior in the low 40s.

An initial round of showers moves from southwest to northeast across the region through the morning and afternoon with a rumble of thunder possible in Wisconsin. A second area of showers sweeps northern Minnesota this evening and overnight with rain generally moving north of the Canadian border by Friday morning. Most areas can only expect around 0.1” of rain today with around 0.25” looking southeast toward Butternut and northwest near International Falls.

Tonight will stay cloudy with lows in mid-30s to low 40s. A wind shifts from east to southwest. Our Friday is then warm with times of sun and clouds and a breezy west wind. Most areas top off in the 60s. A cold front crosses the Northland Friday night with a chance for showers in its wake that could spill into our Saturday. Behind the front, highs still manage mid-50s to low 60s on Saturday. Sunday sees a return to widespread 60s and sunshine.

An east wind looks to return on Monday to keep areas immediately near Lake Superior much cooler in the 40s. Meanwhile, inland areas should be in the 70s. Accumulating rain chances return Monday night into Tuesday.
