Our Friday is windy, cooler, and wet. An east wind is strongest near the head of Lake Superior. A Gale Warning is in effect for 10 am to 7 pm with waves up to 10 feet in height. Highs stay in 40s by the lake and highs elsewhere range from low 50s to mid-60s. Scattered showers and thunderstorms pass the Northland in waves from southwest to northeast through the day. Some storms may produce small hail and gusty winds.

Rain accumulation will generally range from 0.1” to 0.5”, but locally higher amounts are possible in thunderstorms. Showers are pushed into Canada this evening and overnight, then temps fall into mid-30s to low 40s. Saturday features a breezy west southwest wind and highs in mid-60s to low 70s under mostly sunny skies. There’s a low chance for sporadic showers and thunderstorms in the late afternoon.

Sunday is mostly cloudy with temps back in low 60s to low 70, and an east wind will keep lakeside areas in the 50s. Sunday’s rain chances build into northwest Wisconsin from the south. Memorial Day keeps a low chance for showers or thunderstorms in the region. It will otherwise be mostly cloudy with highs in the 60s.
